“Who could have imagined that a chance remark back in 2002 by my partner John would have resulted in the development of my jewellery ranges, the opening of my retail studio and workroom early 2009, and ultimately to the writing of Hotwired.

And what an adventure it has been! How could I forget that first daunting day when I sat down with a sharp pencil (and an eraser!) and a spiral bound book of blank pages, with a broad idea only of what I wanted to bring to the reader.

A book such as this owes its existence to several other creative individuals, Deb Perry, a journalist friend who said I should write a book. Michele Grey, a talented web and graphic designer and digital publisher, for the editing and design of both HOTWIRED and this website, and who also made the process of producing this book a joy and a great learning experience for me.

Thanks go also to the many galleries who stock my jewellery ranges and to all the wonderful customers who buy my work. Lastly but most importantly, my partner John, who motivates and supports me every day.”
